Apoptosis of NG108-15 cells induced by fluorine combined with aluminum exposure and the effect of curcumin intervention

Abstract The mechanism by which the combination of fluorine and aluminum (FA) cause learning memory impairment is still unclear. Curcumin a yellow polyphenol extracted from rhizome plant curcuma longa linn, has anti-apoptotic antioxidant functions; studies have shown that PKC-NMDAR pathway plays an important role in process cell apoptosis. Based on above, we designed vitro study curcumin apoptosis caused coexistence FA. In this study, viability NG108-15 was detected CCK-8; AO/EB dual fluorescence staining kit; mRNA expressions PKC NMDAR were evaluated qRT-PCR protein caspase3, Bax, Bcl-2, WB. Our results showed alleviated FA-induced cells, possibly inhibiting increase caspase3 Bax protein, decrease Bcl-2 thereby upregulating expression to exert neuroprotective effect.
